Dave Sedgwick is Vice President of Operations at CareTrust REIT. He has served in this position since our inception in 2014.  His duties include operator relations, business development, investment underwriting, and oversight of the company’s operating independent living facilities.

Prior to joining CareTrust, Mr. Sedgwick served in several key leadership roles at The Ensign Group from 2001 to 2014. In 2013, he operated Ensign's first 100% short-term skilled nursing facility in Denver, CO while supporting operations in Colorado. In 2012, he served as president of Ensign's urgent care franchise business, Doctors Express. From 2007 to 2012 Mr. Sedgwick served as the Chief Human Capital Officer and President Corporate Services for Ensign. During those five years, he was responsible for reinforcing Ensign's unique culture throughout the organization; he organized the cultural integration of over 45 newly acquired facilities; he created Ensign’s Administrator-In-Training program; he oversaw the selecting and training of over 100 new SNF administrators; he ran Ensign University -- Ensign's organization-wide leadership, management, and clinical training platform.

Prior to those 5 years supporting operations, Mr. Sedgwick ran three skilled nursing facilities in 2 states as the licensed administrator while also serving as a regional operations leader. As an administrator, Mr. Sedgwick helped develop Ensign's hallmark "World Class Service" holistic approach to cultural, clinical, and financial turnarounds.
